Junex

Management system for product development-oriented projects

I had the pleasure of working with Junex on project management, and it was exciting to see our workload grow to almost 20 projects!

As we faced the challenge of managing this increasing volume, we decided to automate our system. Along the way, we also noticed some areas related to volunteer motivation that we wanted to address.

Research

Those led me to four pain points that
the volunteers had been facing with

KPI’s

One of the critical KPI’s for Junex was the amount of volunteers (Juniors, Seniors, and Mentors) who participated from beginning to end. It was obvious that the projects were taking too long, and we needed to find an incentive for the colunteers to remain engaged.

The Solution

The Badges

The badges, designed to be shared on Linkedin, are separated into two groups: (1) badges that each participant receives for their participation and (2) badges to award those who showed special abilities through the project.

The Avatars

The role of the avatars is to guide the user through important steps we want them to take. In addition, it creates a sense of seniority and personal development in the platform.

Motivation

When a Junior would look at the available projects, he can get all the information he needs like level of difficulty, duration, nature of project and who is in the team. He can also see what kind of new abillity he can earn when finishing this project (Personal growth).

Summary

I began this project while Junex had 20 active teams building products for nonprofits. It was an interesting and enjoyable project that continues to evolve and improve. The platform was built, but never used duo to company changes in business model.

Still, It was a great experience for me.
